An Update on WiMax
April 14, 2008- Before very long WiMax may beat LTE as the most widely adopted technology in the mobile industry. The leader before hand had been LTE, and before them UMTS, Universal Mobile Telecommunications System, with 3G technology. Globally, however GSM is in the lead as the dominant cellular technology. GSM holds this lead simply because they were the first marketed. In the US CDMA leads. With all helping each other, the cooperation seen is really beneficial to everyone.
For instance, WiMax and 3G’s cooperation could, in fact, turn into co-existence. Dual band devices are most likely to occur in the early days as in mobile industry first accepts 4G technology and begins the change over.
