ASOCS has introduced a new innovation for mobile devices: a MulitComms processor. This new MP100 MultiComms processor is a single chip that would be inserted into a mobile device and would be capable of supporting several applications such as GSM, WiFi, Mobile TV, and GPS. Users would be able to access more applications with their mobile phones than they might have had access to otherwise. The combination of multiple interfaces that this combination would create would in turn allow manufacturers to reduce their manufacturing costs by half. They would also be able to reduce power consumption by up to 70%, a very important feature for many users today.
The new ASOCS MP100 chip would also be software reconfigurable. In other words, there would always be the possibility of updating the chip, and likewise your mobile device, to support new technologies that might become available in the future, such as LTE or WiMax. In such cases, a simple software update would be all that was required and the ASOCS Mp100 MulitComms chip would be capable of updating to support the new processes. Their partnership with Fujitsu will allow the development of and manufacturing of the new chip by utilizing SiExpress. SiExpress is a service the service of choice that will quickly manufacture the first batch of chips for waiting customers.
Hopefully, these new service will offer users everything they need to make their phone a true all in one center. By being able to add new applications and update them so easily, users will be able to stay on top of their game at all time, thanks to ASOCS.
