Brightpoint and RIM are working together now to provide more services to more countries that were previously served by these two companies. RIM, which stands for Research In Motion, is a leader in manufacturing and marketing of mobile devices and provide services to users such as email, phone, SMS instant messaging, and internet access. RIM is most well known for their signature devices such as the BlackBerry line of handsets. Under the new partnership between RIM and Brightpoint, Brightpoint will be distributing RIM products and services to various areas such as North America, Latin America, Europe, Middle and East Africa and the Asian Pacific.

Brightpoint handled 83 million wireless devices, globally. Their services for customers include distribution, channel development, fulfillment, product customization, and e-Business solutions. Brightpoint has 3,300 employees in over 25 countries and generates a revenue of $4.3 billion. The new services that will be provided by the cooperation of these two world leaders will even increase these numbers for RIM as well as Brightpoint. Brightpoint will provide an array of services to RIM customers through their expansive customer base of 25,000 B2B global channels. Customers will enjoy the benefits of quick deployment, flexibility, and the cost effectiveness of these mobile solutions.

Brightpoint plans to distribute RIM products to areas not already receiving such services. With more services and devices supported via Brightpoint’s supported networks, more users will be able to enjoy the features that RIM products offer. After the initial merger and distribution, perhaps more areas will be added to the list of serviced areas.
