Verizon Finally Landed iPhone

Verizon Wireless invited journalist to iPhone launch event Tuesday in New York City, a person familiar with the matter said Friday. It is expected that Verizon Wireless will officially launch the world’s most popular smartphone in the event. To prepare for the fight, AT&T wireless today slashed the price of iPhone 3GS to $50 from $100, in order to get more customers lock into two-year contract agreements. If you think the screen size of iPhone or iPad is too small, you could hook up the PartyDock to an external display. This cool accessory will only works on iPhone 4 and iPad. Gizmodo.com was fortunate to get the first-hand photos of iPhone HD, the fourth-generation of iPhone that is expected to be launched in June. The iPhone HD features a 3.5-inch touch screen (940 x 460 resolution), a digital camera with LED flash on the rear of the phone, and a secondary digital camera on the front for video calling. Like Apple iPad, the iPhone HD has a microSIM card slot, instead of a regular size SIM slot. It has IMEI and UDID.

Although these are not official release pictures, we are pretty sure that these are leaked photos of real fourth generation iPhone. The Internet rumor said that the phone will be named iPhone 4G, but we doubt that Apple is going to use “4G” name, as 4G means 4G network, which is currently provided by Sprint in some cities in United States. Unless Apple is going to release a CDMA version of iPhone, the name of “iPhone 4G” will sounds quite stupid if the 4th generation iPhone doesn’t run on 4G network.
