Verizon Wireless spokesmen today said that the Motorola Droid phone, Motorola’s first Android-powered phone, could be tethered (means users could use the Droid phone as a wireless modem for a laptop to browse the Internet) starting in the first quarter 2010. Wait a second. Before you jump and down celebrating, there is a catch for that. There is a $15 dollars fee for this service, and you could only get up to 5GB of data per month. Verizon Wireless didn’t say what is the penalty if you use more than 5GB of data per month.

Motorola’s first Android phone, Motorola Cliq with MOTOBLUR™, is available at T-Mobiel stores beginning today. The selling price for the phone is $199.99 with two-years contract agreement. Although the Cliq phone might have been overshadowed by the launch of Motorola’s Droid (Android 2.0), it is still worth taking a look at this Motorola Cliq.

The struggling cell phone maker, Motorola, is rumored to release a hybrid GSM / CDMA android-powered phone in China. The codename of the phone is “MOTO Zeppelin”, which we doubt Motorola will use the codename as the official name of the phone. Besides having a cool name, the Zeppelin phone also has amazing features and specifications, including a 3.1-inch HVGA touch screen, 5-megapixel digital camera with LED flash, HDMI output, and Video recorder that record high-definition 720P videos. Besides that, the Zeppelin phone also has other standard smartphone features, such as GPS, Wi-Fi, Stereo Bluetooth, and 3.5mm headphone jack.

Sprint Nextel today announced the purple color version of Motoorla I776w, an entry-level cheap (affordable) flip style phone that supports Nextel Direct Connect walkie talkie services. There is nothing sexy about its features and specifications. Its features include GPS navigation, Bluetooth, a cheap VGA camera, and Push-to-Send My Info, Push-to-Send Contacts and Push-to-View. It is sold for $80 with contract.

Nextel, the carrier that most people that it is dead, today launched the Motorola i865 Debut, a trendy and awesome looking phone that looks so sexy compared to Nextel’s regular dull-looking phones. The Motorola i865 is Nextel’s first slide phone ever. Now you know how boring Nextel phones are. Features and specifications wise, the Debut comes with integrated MP3 music player, GPS, and Walkie-Talkie support. Selling price is $99.99 with a $50 rebate on contract.

Verizon Wireless today announced the Motorola Entice, a.k.a. Motorola W766. The Motorola Entice is a flip style 3G phone with dual LCD screen. Its most notable features and specifications are built-in 2-megapixel digital camera, MP3 music player, Stereo Bluetooth, microSD memory expansion slot that supports up to 8GB, and GPS navigation (VZ navigator). Besides that, it has dedicated access keys to popular features such as a music player, camera and speakerphone.

The Motorola Entice W766 is available today for $39.99 after a $50 rebate. Two years contract is required for the offer.

Motorola’s latest messaging phone, called Motorola Murano, is leaked in Brazil. This GSM messaging phone has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and a landscape LCD screen (320 x 240 pixels). Although it is not confirmed yet, the Moto Murano’s LCD screen is probably not a touch sensitive screen.

The phone doesn’t have 3G. Instead, it runs on slower GPRS / EDGE connectivity. The official release date of the phone is not confirmed yet.
