The highly anticipated Palm Pre, Palm’s best effort to beat Apple’s iPhone, is not yet launched, although we have been reporting the Pre phone for more than 6 months now. Surprise! The Touchstone, the charger for Palm Pre is available for sales at some Sprint stores. The Touchstone is a remarkable dock for the Pre as it requires absolutely no wires to charge the Pre phone. So, does the launch of Pre charger means Sprint and Palm will officially launch the Pre phone in these few days?

In a recent interview with APC, Palm CEO Ed Colligan said the company’s long-awaited operating system of the future will center around the Internet, and be distinct from the familiar Palm OS that’s currently available.

The new Sprint Treo 800w is set to release in mid July. Sprint has hinted that the new Treo design will be available to customers on July 22, 2008. The Sprint Treo 800w is a pleasing new design that features a lot of the same things we are used to seeing in a Treo design and that we expect to be there. The new mobile device design features autonomous GPS to keep users on track and provide turn by turn directions for those of us who are not sure where we are going or how to get there! The Treo 800w also features SMS messaging on a QWERTY style keyboard, so that message typing will be as simple and comfortable as sitting at your laptop typing up an email.

March 30, 2008- Leaked information regarding the upcoming business actions of Sprint suggest the release of the long awaited Palm Treo 800w. A slide from a smart phone roadmap of release dates showed that the Palm Treo 800w should release in July, as well as some other exciting devices. The new Palm Treo will feature many of the features that were already rumored to be included in the new package. Such features include, Windows Mobile standard and will make the Palm Treo 800w the first 320 x 320 Windows Mobile supporting product. It will also be Palm’s fir Wi-Fi and GPS enabled smart phone as well as their first EVDO Rev A device.

PDA phones market has been growing by leaps and bounds thanks to the shrinking market of standalone of PDA market which was monopolized by Palm. The picture shown is a new PDA phone which is powered by Linux and designed by a brand new company called openmoko in Taiwan. This “football-shaped” PDA phone is called Neo 1973 (pretty weird, right?). It features touchscreen, WiFi support and GPS features. Since the Neo 1973 PDA phone is powered by Linux, Linux programmers would be able to program and enhance the features of the PDA phone easily.

The Treo 755p is a CDMA network phone that looks no different that Treo 680 but comes with better hardware specifications. The Treo 755p comes loaded with Palm OS 5.4.9 Mobile OS, a big 2.5-inch 65K TFT Touchscreen, miniSD expansion slot that supports up to 4GB of miniSD Card!, 1.3-MP digital camera with 2X digital zoom and definitely a Stylus which I think is a trademark of Palm PDA phone.
