This is another Japanese phone that we can’t get in the US. The Panasonic P-06A is a flip style phone featuring Panasonic’s latest Mobile PEAKS processor. The phone has a 3.0-inch 262K TFT LCD screen, and a 2.0-megapixel digital camera. It measures 109×49×16mm, and weights 106 grams. There isn’t any detail information about its features and specifications.

Panasonic P906i is a stylish mobile phone with the unique two-way access style that opens the shell case vertically or horizontally. The Panasonic P906i is a “One-segment” mobile TV phone that combines the VIERA technology (Panasonic’s high-definition LCD TV) and “Mobile Double Speed” technology (frame conversion technology from 15 frames to 30 frames per second), output high quality images on its built-in 3.1 inch Full Wide VGA large screen.

Other features of the P906i includes a 5.1-megapixel digital camera, 3G network connectivity, and MP3 digital music player.

June, 4 – Softbank showed off the latest waterproof Sharp 824SH and Panasonic Tropical 823p phones at an official launch party in Japan yesterday. Softbank demonstrates the operation of Panasonic Tropical 823p phone in water, as captured in the photo above.

Sharp Waterproof 824SH is only 15.3mm thick, which makes it the world’s slimmest waterproof 1seg cellular phone. Surprisingly, Softbank spokesman said that the waterproof phones are designed to target women.

“Many of our customers started subscribing to our service because they were attracted by the advanced capabilities of our handsets and our reasonable fee system,” President Masayoshi Son said. “Therefore, the ratio of female users has been slightly lower compared with our rivals.”

As a result, SoftBank Mobile launched a project to develop handsets targeting women about a year ago. When the company conducted a survey on functions that women are seeking, the request for “waterproof function” was higher than any other functions including 1seg and GPS, it said. That is because many women said they “wanted to write email while bathing.

With all the new technologies popping up everywhere within the mobile work, it is not surprising that Panasonic’s newest design, the KX-WP800 has Skype capabilities. Skype is downloadable software that allows users to make calls to anyone in the world via the internet. This service is provided free to cell phones users and also supports other methods of data communication such as text messaging, file transfers, and video conferencing. Although the KX-WP800’s availability in the in the Western Hemisphere is unknown, it will be released in Japan at the end of the month. Hopefully, upon its release, we will be hearing good things from its users.

The KX-WP800 features 55 hours of standby time as well as 4.5 hours of talk time, so you never have to worry about losing power in the middle of a conversation. This new Panasonic handset also features connectivity to the FON network for all those free call via Wi-Fi. This handset comes bundled with an 802.1 1b’g router so users can even create a FON hotspot in your own hone! Of course there are hundreds of thousands of hotspots already established for access by users in many areas of the country. The best part is that you do not have to search for the network in order to connect, as you would with a laptop or other PC, this handset connects automatically to the nearest accessible hotspot network.

Although we already know the price of this new Panasonic handset for those in Japan that will be able to purchase this phone first (paying ¥29,800, or around £145), we will have to wait and see if that high dollar sticks once users begin reviewing it.
