Verizon Wireless Lands Samsung Convoy Push-to-Talk phone

Besides launching LG Chocolate Touch, and BlackBerry Curve 8530, Verizon Wireless today also unearthed the Samsung Convoy, a rugged Push-to-Talk phone that is built to meet military specifications to withstand the harshest of elements. The Samsung Convoy looks just like one of those ugly Nextel phones that are designed for on-field workers. The Convoy features a long battery life, Push to Talk capabilities that leverage Verizon Wireless’ Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) Revision A (Rev. A), VZ navigator (GPS navigation), 2-MP digital camera, and stereo speaker.

MetroPCS Launched Its First Windows Mobile Cell Phone

Affordable local mobile phone carrier, MetroPCS, today launched the first smartphone of the carrier – Samsung Code, also known as Samsung SCH-i220. It is kind of disappointing to learn that the Samsung Code runs on Windows 6.1 operating system, instead of the latest Windows 6.5 operating system. MetroPCS doesn’t mention whether the Samsung Code is upgradeable to Windows 6.5 or not, we doubt it does.

Sprint Announced Its First Android Phone – Samsung Moment

Sprint Nextel, the 3rd largest carrier by subscriber in United States, today announced its first Android phone – Samsung Moment. The release of Samsung Moment shows that Google’s Android operating system is gaining a lot of momentum as more and more carriers are willing to carrier Android-powered phones. The first carrier in the United States that offered Android-powered phone was T-Mobile. Verizon Wireless also recently announced the partnership with Google.

Samsung’s first Android powered phone, Samsung Galaxy, now has a little brother which is greener called Samsung Galaxy Lite. The pictures of Galaxy Lite is leaked in the Internet. According to the leaked source, the Galaxy Lite phone has 3.2-megapixel digital camera, AMOLED touch screen (size unkown), 1GB of internal memory storage, and the most importantly its eye-catching green color design.

They are Samsung Rogue and Samsung Intensity, which both have a full QWERTY keyboard, targeting heavy texters and email users. The Samsung Rogue is available today for $99.99 after $100.00 mail-in rebate with two-year contract agreement, while the Samsung Intensity is sold for $29.99 after a $50.00 mail-in rebate with two-year contract agreement also.

MetroPCS today announced a special edition of Samsung R450 slider phone designed by tattoo artist Mark Machado, who goes by Mister Cartoon. This special R450 phone, known as Samsung R450s, will come preloaded with Mister Cartoon’s designed backgrounds, ringtones, and animations. MetroPCS spokesman said there will be only 30,010 Mister Cartoon edition R450s available for customers. If you are a big fan of Mister Cartoon, you better run down to MetroPCS store as soon as possible.

Eco-friendly Samsung Reclaim Phone Announced by Sprint

Sprint today unearthed the Samsung Reclaim, a green phone that is made of eco-friendly plastic materials. According to Sprint spokesman, the Reclaim phone is made of 80 percent recyclable materials. 40 percent of the recyclable materials are made from corn. The reclaim phone is completely free of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), phthalates, and nearly free of brominated flame retardants (BFR).

Picture shown above is the leaked Samsung Galaxy, an Android-powered touch screen phone that is said to be released in Europe pretty soon. The phone looks very alike to HTC Magic, also an Android-powered phone. The leaked source said that the phone will be available for O2 customers. However, Samsung, on the other hand, refuse to confirm the rumor.

Samsung Solstice Gets Official Release

AT&T Wireless today announced a new touch screen phone from Samsung called Samsung Solstice (also known as Samsung SGH-A887). The Solstice phone runs on Samsung TouchWiz 3.0 interface, featuring virtual-landscape keyboard, widgets, and one-touch access to frequently used applications and social. The Solstice has built-in accelerometer that will automatically detect motion and the orientation of the device allowing for the use of richer applications and features, including autorotation of the display, motion sensing games and photo scrolling by tilting the device.
