In United States, we get excited about release of two or three new phones in a day. I am not sure whether Japanese doesn’t get satisfied with new gadgets easily, or NTT DoCoMo goes insane, the largest cell phone carrier in Japan – NTT DoCoMo today announced 37 new mobile phones in one day! Yes, you read right, it is nearly 40 phones. Below are some of the phones that we can only dream of.

Fujtsu F-02B: Described as a "jewelry quality" phone with a snap-on perfume holder for "an air of elegance."

LG L-03B: Has support for Korean, Japanese, and English for frequent travelers (in other words, English speakers, if you find yourself on this archipelago and you don’t speak a lick of the local tongue, seek out this phone).

Sharp SH-04B: Designed to look like a melting chocolate bar by food-themed wardrobe accessory maker Q-Pot — for some reason we don’t fully comprehend.

Fujitsu F-04B: Realizing the concept shown off at CEATEC last year, this one features a removable keyboard that operates via Bluetooth and a 12.1 megapixel camera.

Panasonic P-01B: This flip looks like pretty much every other in the lineup, but its got a secret — the keypad doubles as a touchpad. Clever.

Samsung SC-01B: Samsung’s Windows Mobile 6.5-powered entry here appears to be a remix of the B7330 sold globally, which makes it about 1,000 times weaker than every other phone in the lineup.

  And from Softbank:

Sharp AQUOS Mobile FULLTOUCH 941SH: All we need to say about this one is "4-inch 1024 x 480 display," which, as you might be able to imagine, is a world’s first.

Sharp AQUOS Mobile 943SH: Dual one-seg tuners let you watch one program and record another, and a mention of transferring Blu-ray content has us thinking that Managed Copy is along for the ride.

Toshiba dynapocket X02T: Remember how NTT DoCoMo had previously gotten the TG01 as the T01A? Yeah, well, now it’s Softbank’s turn — and this time, it’s called the X02A. Not much more to it than that.

Samsung X01SC: This looks to be a localized version of AT&T’s Samsung Jack, of all phones, meaning that it’s a Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard phone (no touchscreen) with a QVGA display and portrait QWERTY keyboard.

Sharp 942SH KT: No lineup would be complete without the obligatory Hello Kitty marketing tie-in, and the 942SH KT does the honors this time around with a black shell featuring stylized pink text and graphics.

Samsung OMNIA VISION 940SC: Samsung’s now-famous OMNIA brand comes to Softbank on the wings of a 3.5-inch AMOLED display, one-seg tuner, and kickstand for desktop viewing.

Sharp Jelly Beans 840SH: We don’t think you’d want to try eating it, but the 840SH comes in seven colors — hence the name, we think.

Android: The simply-named Android runs — you guessed it — Android with a 3.7 inch AMOLED display and 1GHz Snapdragon processor; unfortunately, it won’t be available until next Spring and the manufacturer isn’t being revealed right now.

April 10, 2008- DoCoMo has introduced their newest design that features such innovations as the new mobile AQUOS LCD screen and built in Dolby Digital sound. The SH905iTV has finally arrived. This new design has a lot of new features that users are sure to love. The SH905iTV features a biaxial flip design for easy conversion into a T shape for TV watching, high contrast resolution, an anti-tremor metal casing, and a 3.2 megapixel AF camera.

The SH905iTV offers users a whole new mobile experience with its incorporation of Dolby Digital sound into the phone. Users will be able to experience sound like never before, enhancing the mobile entertainment experience. The new design measures 112 x 50 x 18.9 inches and weighs 139 grams. The metal shell gives this design a more masculine feel and the size of the phone is ideal for simply sliding into a pant pocket and taking everywhere with you. The SH905iTV also includes a microSD memory card slot to allow users to externalize their data for easier transfer.

The camera features anti tremor technology to help users get the perfect shot every time, regardless of shaky hands as well as 7 camera modes. Options such as portrait, night landscape, and cloudy conditions will also help make every picture come out beautifully.

March 27, 2008- The world’s first molecular deliver system for molecular communication has been introduced to the world today thanks to the joint efforts of researchers at NTT DoCoMo, Inc. and Professor Kazuo Sutoh of The University of Tokyo’s Department of Life Sciences. DoCoMo has been researching technologies such as these within the field of molecular communication already in search of a new advancement in molecular communication. DoCoMo’s goal is to offer a means of transmitting information about living organisms’ biochemical conditions. For example, information such as excitement, emotion, stress and disease could be gathered and studied via this new technology. By creating mechanical work from chemical energy a deliver system could be created to transport specific molecules.

Since this system would run complete independently, there would be no need for a power source. This could in tern lead to the development of a biochemical analyzer (or biochip). This microchip that would be about the size of your fingertip could be used for biological and chemical analysis. This new technology could have dozens of applications in several different fields including medicine and health care. Diseases could be diagnosed by simply analyzing a bead of sweat or a drop of blood. Data could then be generated about the disease and sent wirelessly to specialists through a mobile phone. This type of new technology would be especially useful in health checks and preventative medicine in remote areas where high tech medical equipment is not readily available. This new technology could be the beginning of a new era in disease treatment and control.

March 27, 2008- DoCoMo has a very proud announcement to make. They have successfully achieved a downlink transmission rate of 250Mbps via high speed wireless networking. During an experimental outdoor test of their Super 3G mobile communications system, their achieved the world’s fastest mobile network! DoCoMo has been trying for such an achievement for a while. Several field tests have been performed before this most recent, successful one in R&D labs in Yokosuka, south of Tokyo. Beginning in February, DoCoMo has been trying to capture excellent speeds for their networking and has finally reached success.

During their testing, DoCoMo has used four Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antennas for transmitting from base stations and receiving at mobile stations. They have been utilizing maximum Super 3G standards at a 20MHz bandwidth. They are continuing to test connection handover between base stations. Also, they have been working to improve the functioning of applications when used indoor as well as outdoor.

Super 3G, also known as Long Term Evolution (LTE) features low latency for all its data transmissions and also has high spectrum efficiency, which is truly the point at which they are outshining all others. This goes above and beyond High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) and High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA). DoCoMo began in mid-2006 accepting proposals from those who wished to utilize Super 3G test equipment. They are currently planning to complete development of the technologies by 2009 and begin launch of this new, extraordinary network option. Test results will be presented at CTIA Wireless 2008.

RIM’s SureType technology is cool when comes to English not Japanese. That’s why RIM gets help from DoCoMo in building her BlackBerry for Japanese.

Tokyo, Japan – NTT DoCoMo, Inc. (DoCoMo) and Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM) today announced Japanese-language text input support for the BlackBerry® 8707h smartphone, which is available in Japan via DoCoMo.

The addition of Japanese-language support for the BlackBerry 8707h will help satisfy customers who are interested in deploying BlackBerry smartphones in Japanese-language environments. Customers will be able to compose and read Japanese e-mails, browse Japanese websites and input Japanese text for personal information management (PIM) applications. A Japanese user interface will also be available.

The launch of Japanese-language support will also include the localization of BlackBerry® Enterprise Server and BlackBerry® Desktop Manager. BlackBerry Enterprise Server software tightly integrates with IBM®Lotus®Domino® and Microsoft® Exchange, and enables secure, push-based wireless access to e-mail and other corporate data, while BlackBerry Desktop Manager enables data synchronization between a BlackBerry smartphone and a PC.

The localized BlackBerry software is expected to be available beginning this summer and will be pre-loaded on the BlackBerry 8707h.

DoCoMo will accept advance orders of the BlackBerry 8707h with Japanese-language support beginning June 11, 2007. Details are available at the NTT DoCoMo Business Online corporate sales site www.docomo.biz (Japanese only).
