April 7, 2008- At CTIA last week in Las Vegas, there were quite a few new faces… faceplates that is, making their debut as well as a few that might have only been there to make out mouths water. Although there is a chance that we may never get to see some of these devices that were introduced, the ideas behind the technology are quite interesting. For instance, there are some designs that have been created to target specific age groups. Two in particular are senior and fashionistas. First the senior phone:

The ClarityLife cell phone is a mobile device that has been designed especially for senior users. With a 2.75 inch monochrome display, it is clear and easy to read without a lot of extra stuff going on to distract you from the point of the menu screen you are accessing or adding any confusion. Emergency buttons can be programmed to sound alarms then call a list of up to five programmed numbers in the case of an emergency. Text messages and calls are placed continuously once the alarm is sounded until someone is reached. This is a very nice feature for any senior who may feel insecure about going out or stay anywhere alone.

Next is a cell phone designed especially designed for the fashion minded individuals. The Kyocera Neo E1100 is a CDMA clamshell phone that is oozing style. It is a thin and sleek design measuring only 0.66 inches thick. With a 1.3 megapixel camera on board, users can take picture to their heart content. Users can also relax on the beach while listening to their MP3 using the 2.5 mm audio jack if that is their style.
