Closed Captioning for This Program Brought to You By Sprint!

The newest idea from Sprint is here… captioning for you mobile phone calls. It was only a matter of time until someone thought of this wonderful idea. Have you ever wondered what cellular phone services have out there for the hearing impaired? I mean, what good is a cellular phone to someone who can not hear well enough to use it? Now Sprint has an option for those who need and wish to take advantage of their ingenuity. WebCapTel is a service that will allow word-for-word captions of calls to be displayed onto a web browser for the hearing impaired… or anyone else who wants to use it… to read their phone calls.
With WebCapTel, hearing impaired users can make and receive their own phone calls without the assistance of others. Imagine the new found independence! During a phone call, if you are having trouble hearing what is said on the line, do not worry about asking for help or having to ask the person on the other end to “Say that again?” or as “What did you say?” Simply log onto www.sprintcaptel.com and read the written captions of the words being spoken over the line. It works much the same way as closed captioning for the television. The spoken words of the telephone conversation will be changed into words on the screen that can be read in stead. When the call is complete, the user can even save it for later if they wish.
This is a free service to Sprint customers.
