Dopod in China announced another brand new cell phone, Dopod P860 that looks very alike to iPhone. Since HTC is Dopod’s strategic partner, the Dopod P860 is said to be the 2nd next-generation of HTC Touch, the only iPhone’s competitor in United States, which will be available through Sprint PCS in November 4, 2007. By looking at the outlook and features of the Dopod P860, we believe that the P860 is the HTC Polaris or Touch Cruise (2nd generation of HTC Touch).

The Dopod P860 has an impressive list of features and specifications. Features include a 2.8″ QVGA touch screen, 3.0-Megapixel digital camera, and built-in GPS navigation system. The P860 smartphone runs on a Qualcomm 400 MHz CPU with 256 ROM and 128 RAM. Network and connectivity wise, the P860 supports GSM?850/900/1800/1900 MHz, WCDMA (850/1900/2100 MHz, HSDPA?7.2 Mbps), HSUPA, and Wi-Fi.
