Japanese always stay ahead of anybody else in cellular phone technology. While we were excited about the innovative dual screen prototype phone that might become reality, Hitachi in Japan has unearthed a working big 2.9″ LCD screen with whopping 800 x 480 resolutions that makes browsing internet on phone as easy as browsing internet on desktop.

Does big screen mean more consumption of battery? This isn’t the case of this Hitachi phone is built on Hitachi’s patented low battery consumption technology. The viewing angle of this Hitachi’s LCD is 170. With ratio of 400:1, this Hitachi phone is definitely a mobile HDTV. It is expected that this Hitachi phone will be available in Japan pretty soon.
