March 24, 2008- Coming soon from Samsung: the Samsung DuoS P240 candybar phone. This new phone will be the protégé of the previously released Samsung Duo D880. The D880 was a great phone with exciting features, however, the price was a bit steep. At $700, there was a large range of the dual SIM market that was left out of the customer pool. Now, this newer version with a price 20 - 30% less, more of the market will be included. The more affordable price will allow more users to purchase the phone and take advantage of its awesome functions and capabilities.
The Dou line fron Samsung allows users to use different providers depending on who they happen to be calling. This is a more cost effective way for users to use their mobile phone services. With two SIM slots, users can quickly and easily swap providers from call to call. The Samsung DuoS P240 will also feature Bluetooth capabilities to keep users hands free and still connected. A microSD memory card slot and a 220 x 176 display makes taking a recording pictures and videos a breeze. The great screen resolution will make displaying your media and showing it off as much fun as capturing it.
There is also word that a DuoS featuring Windows Mobile technology may be in the works for release this year. However, those behind the scenes feel that operation of two SIM cards could become a bit difficult if incorporated into a touch screen mobile such as the Samsung Armani.
