The LG Glimmer (a.k.a LG AX830) is an iPhone-rival phone from LG, that has LG Shine phone design. The stylish looking LG Glimmer sports a big 2.8-inch 240 x 400 pixels LCD Touchscreen that outputs 262K colors. Unlike iPhone or HTC Touch, the Glimmer still comes equipped with a regular phone keypad, which can be slide out smoothly. Other features of the LG Glimmer phone include a 2.0-megapixel digital camera, GPS navigation that works only if you subscribe GPS services with your carrier, a microSD memory expansion slot that supports up to 4GB, and Stereo Bluetooth connectivity.

phone offers nice features in small form.
has great feel with the touch screen.
Have not found a way to change incoming ring tones to constant level. Currently is low and increases as phone rings longer. Not sure if defect or the way it is. Can not find anything in manual or menus to change. Alltel doesn’t seem to offer much help, they say it shouldn’t be this way and LG say that is the way the phone is programed.
Also notice some dropped calls where my previous phone (motorola V710)with external antenna would not drop calls.
Love LG Glimmer. It is awesome.
Is there ANY way to get it for Bell or Telus?

LG glimmer gets terrible reception. I have the E815 and live three miles from the Alltel Store. I get full bars with both phones at the store, I get no bars at home with the glimmer and 2 to 3 bars with the 815.
glimmer gets very poor reception.
The phone is beautiful, I like the size as well. My only problem with it is the scroll function. It is awkward because it is placed on the far right of the touch screen.

The programming, menu options, functions and most importantly, the file structure ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT!!!!!!! The LOOK of the menus are similar, but they are NOT THE SAME.

I’ve had the Glimmer for a couple of weeks and I’m not sure where these people say it has bad reception. I went side by side with my old Razor(which got great reception) and it pretty much went toe to toe. I love the phone and would recomend to anybody. I am very very picky also.
I have had the phone for a few weeks, my only complaint about the phone is you always have to unlock it…but with touch screen i guess that is good. I have great reception and love this phone! I am trying to get some games downloaded but have been able to get everything else that I wanted. I also have the memory card so i guess that makes getting songs and ringtones a bit easier.
I’m only 12 and i have been saving for this phone forever and i finally got it a few days ago. I like all the features, some of my favorites things about this phone are: you can expand the music memory with an sd card, there is also a keypad for txting on screen, and it’s a very durable sturdy phone. I love the whole look of the phone and all its features like the touchscreen. The only thing a dont like is that scrolling down is sometimes difficult on the touchscreen. I would rate it a 9.5 out of ten.

I have had my glimmer since July and I love this phone the only thing is I am looking for a way to unlock or change the software so that when you text the screen can be turned sideways like the LG Dare. i was wondering if anyone knew how to make contacts a certain ringtone…i have it set but everytime i get a text message its the same rington over and over again…i changed all my contacts to certain ringtones but yet its the same ringtone for every contact
Its really amazing reading all of the bad reception comments. The reception that I get has always been good it must just be where your located. Id rate the phone a 9 out of 10. works great for me!!!

for all you people that think scrolling down the contacts is hard, your dumb. you don’t have to use the little scroller thing on the far right. you just put your thumb in the middle of the screen and flick it up
I locked mine and forgot the code. Does anyone know a way to reset the phone or by-pass the unlock screen?
My only complaint is that the backlight NEVER turns off when it is plugged in to my wall charger. Is this normal, or does mine have a defect? Seems pretty dumb.

Why would you care if the backlight doesn’t turn off when it’s charging? It barely uses energy and it charges fine.
Oh yeah, I find everything AMAZING. Best a small phone has to offer. This is probably one of the best (small) phones I’ve ever used (compared to the G1…which i passed on to my brother since i didn’t need) And I would rate a 9.8 out of 10. (I’m still trying to get different ringtones for the contacts =P)
Bad reception?? Never. I get service everywhere with this phone and it has yet to drop a call.

How would i find the games i’ve download?
Hey the best way I have found for the ringtones is you have to go to Phone Information scroll down to memory then save options then audio then internal memory then have somebody send you a ringtone via text then open message go to menu and save media to audio then go back to your main menu go to shuffle then ringtone list than add then scroll through list and you will find the ringtone than done.Now the only thing with doing this is you can’t assign to anybody it just shuffles all of the ones added to the list. hope this helps by the way I love my lg glimmer also.
I love this phone only problem is i wish i could use my blue-toothed songs as ringtones..anyone know how to fix this?

For free ringtones go to http://www.myxer.com. Make an account, register your phone, pick out ringtones and as long as you can receive picture messages you can get free ringtones. I have had the Glimmer for about 6 months and have 1 gig of ringtones all free from that site. AMAZING!
