We all have seen eye-scanners technology for authentication in movies like James Bond and Mission Impossible. How cool is it if we can use this kind of technology in real life? Well, our dream is getting close to become reality as Xvista, UK-based company has developed the first portable iris scanner that will be integrated in cell phone to verify cell phone users. It is claimed that the chances of two separate human irises is approximately one in 7 billion which makes this technology has the highest level of security compare to other biometric technology.
What xVista’s Iris Scanning technology does is
discreetly and securely map the iris for individual characteristics, first registering the eye to a central database by creating a template. Then be checked against all further scans, the system can verify the user’s identity.
