Mobile Broadband Connections Worldwide Offer Non-Users Opportunity to Get Connected
Filed under Wireless Industry News

March 30, 2008- The global trade association for the mobile industry, The GSM Association, announced on Friday that there are more HSPA Mobile Broadband connections in the world than there have ever been before and the increase since this time last year is truly astonishing. At the end of 2007’s first quarter, there were a little more than 3 million mobile broadband connections, and now there are over 32 million worldwide!! The Wireless Intelligence database covering global mobile marketing has generated some interesting figures in regard to the increase in mobile broadband connections as well. Their recent analysis shows more than 850 percent increases year to year in mobile broadband connections worldwide. Of course, these numbers will only continue to grow as more companies upgrade to HSPA mobile broadband connections and as more and more of the public become users of the technology.
The usage of several new and emerging mobile services such as music and video downloading and internet access have been increasing in countries where this high speed broadband is becoming available to their handsets. The really wonderful thing about all this progress is that with more and more users feeding the economy by using services offered by the mobile broadband connection, mobile phone companies are able to use the increase revenue to lower the prices of mobile phones and equipment. In turn, more people are able to afford high quality mobile devices and take advantage of all these services available to them via mobile phone… and the circle continues. The numbers prove it, too. In the last 16 months, there has been a 265 percent increase in the quantity of mobile devices made available to the public to feed the growing number of users.
