Motorola Plans to Ship Its Own Direct-to-Consumer Phone

Motorola’s co-CEO, Sanjay Jha, said in the recent Motorola earnings calls that they plan to ship “at least 20 devices, including at least one direct-to-consumer device with Google.” Direct-to-Consumer is the business model that Google uses to sell Nexus One, a powerful Android-powered smartphone that is made by HTC. It is quite certain that Motorola’s Direct-to-Consumer phone will continue to use the name of “Nexus One”, the brand that Google is pushing hard to fight against Apple’s iPhone.
