The Motorola W385 is an ultra-slim and lightweight flip phone that is comparable to its counterpart – Motorola RAZR. The stunning looking Motorola W385, however, comes equipped with less advanced features that specifications that Motorola RAZR has. Features include a VGA camera, Bluetooth® Wireless Technology, Text and Picture Messaging, and Advanced Speech Recognition. The Motorola W385 is in fact a low-end cell phone that is designed for users who need a simple-to-use and lightweight phone to carry around.

  1. john of sparta Says:

3rd week with my W385. haven’t had to charge it yet.
i was told to let the battery run down “completely” for
the first time. it hasn’t done that. this issue alone
    makes it a great phone.

  2. katie Says:

it is a good phone, but it tends to freeze a lot

  3. awindel Says:

I also put a review on CNET about this phone. I am putting one on this site is to inform otheres. A brief background, I a have had a cell phone since they first came onto the market. I have used many carriers with many different phones. You might ask why—-because I like change!!! This phone is the greatest! If you want a phone that is phone than this one is for you. I hope you understand that this is a device that you TALK on. I know that alot of people want to do other things with a cellphone but this one has GREAT RECEPTION, and BATTERY LIFE, along with VOICE CLARITY——-It is a GREAT phone. If you want it for other uses———–don’t buy it.

  4. rob Says:

i have had this phone for 1day and it is great. it has everything

  5. Kasandra Says:

I got this phone for my birthday two days ago and it’s great! It is perfect for first time cellphone carriers! The battery life is awesome, it stays charged for a long time!

  6. Paul Says:

Wheres the software to link it with your pc?

  7. Aaron Says:

In response to Paul, I don’t think there is an option of connecting it your computer or of downloading things to it using the internet. I have tried downloading ringtones, and it just plays them and that’s the last you’ll see of them.

I meen it doesn’t save them anywhere it seems.

  8. shanii Says:

I dont like my phone I just dont get it I need for someone to exsplain it it does’nt meet my needs!!!!

  9. Djay P Says:

Of course you can connect it to your PC !! And back up stuff, import stuff, swap pictures and ringtones, etc ! Just use Motorola Phone Tools (MPT) available on ebay for cheap. Cheerio. And it’s a sturdy little booger with great battery life and reception.

  10. tyler Says:

i got this phone a coupke of days ago on a pay and talk plan adn i cant get the SPARK internet to work it keeps saying http error: 403 forbidden, i need help and i really want to have ringtones please help

  11. Barely Be Says:

I love my phone, its really nice, and its my first. Bummer for me, is today I was on the phone with Telus, my provider for 75 minutes (seriously) trying to figure out why my game Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Music edition wasn’t working…that and The Game of Life were not compatable with my phone. So it was almost a waste of money…the games are on my phone, they will be good for the next phone I buy lol…but Telus gave me $14 for nothing lol..so 2 games that I can’t use and $14 for free lol awesome…but I love the phone, my friends like it too :)

  12. spencer Says:

in response to tyler , if you want to go to a site to download ringtones open spark and click on menu and scroll down to URL, when your there type in the address. But i dont reccommend you do this b/c telus has some policy about not letting ppl use there own ringtones, the only way to get new ringtones is to download them directly from telus otherwise they simply wont work

  13. MR. BOSS STATUS Says:

Is there a free software download to link it with your pc?

  14. BBC Says:

Email the pics from the send option to transfer photos from Phone to PC. You need to have texting in order to do so. Insted of using a phone number to send a photo, change to ABC mode and enter in the email address. The @ and . are the 1 key in ABC mode as well.

    Hope this helped.

  15. Sukh Says:

i have bought this phone just today. So far I think its great phone, specially if you want something simple and straight forward.

  16. Masivci Says:

I have this phone. It’s a really great phone, the battery life is awesome. It actually lasts a long time. My old phone was a RAZR and the battery life was horrible. The features on this phone are great, but i need to find a way to import my own ringtones. I have found the way to record whatever i want and put it as a ringtone, but sometimes the quality sucks. So if anyone knows any way i can get my ringtones in the phone without recording please e-mail me at sortmasivci@yahoo.com.

P.S For those of you who didn’t know about the recording ringtone, open your phone, go to Settings menu, then Settings, then Sounds, then Find the option called New Voice Note, and record whatever you want. :)

  17. Airport Builder Says:

After having four (4) LG-VX8300 phones fail, Verizon conceded defeat and let me choose a completely new phone. I opted for the W-385. I just needed a good, dependable phone. I don’t need an MP3 player (that’s what I-Pods are for). This phone literally beats the LG I had hands down. I’ve not dropped a call yet, reception is great, and call quality is outstanding.

  18. Garrett Says:

i bought a ringtone off the internet and i want to transfer it to my phone is there a free software to do it? i don’t wanna spend 40 dollars for phone tools just so i can get 1 ringtone telus didn’t have :(

  19. Amanda Says:

The phone is awsome except for the fact that boost told me to reset it and I am having to send it to motorola to fix it. The good thing is I have a 1 year war. on it and it will be fixed for free. Every thing else on it is good except camera storing you can only take a few pic.

  20. adams Says:

The video up above states that the 385 has fm on it,I’d like to know where?

  21. Jeff Says:

Actually, whoever above said to use Motorola Phonetools with this phone was incorrect. The Motorola website clearly states that the w385 is NOT compatible with PhoneTools. I’ve tried it myself and it WILL NOT work. You can download usb drivers and it will CHARGE the w385 while plugged into the usb port, but that is all.

  22. beba Says:

I personally don’t like the phone,it has a few features that are worth using.I can’t download my music to it and thats ok,but the battery wastes with in a few hours other than my problems, its an okay phone!!!

  23. mike Says:

motorola phone tools does work with the w385, you need the upgraded version. but i want video on my w385 phone….how do i get it?

  24. justin from green bay Says:

this phone does have a player in it but it can only hold a few songs, you also need to have a pc phone tool program. battery life was great at first but now it just seems to get shorter and shorter.

  25. justin from green bay Says:

also to jeff….when the phone is plugged in to the computer it looks like the phone is charging but it does not charge it. if any one wants the pc program for the phone please email me.

  26. Natasha Says:

I just bought the phone a few days ago, and i bought a ringtone from telus on my computer.
Does anyone know how to get to it from the phone, and set it as your ringtone??

  27. RUBY Says:

WOW DID PHONE SOUNDS PRETTY GAY

  28. Andrew Says:

This is for Justin from green bay:you said if any one wants the PC program for the phone ,must mail you …but you didn’t write where ¿? So, what can I do? I need that program please .

  29. Angie Says:

Need the software for pic transfer to pc. I tried this free trial software called Datapilot but it seems to not be compatible with this phone. Justin…I need that program too. Write back with your email if you ever read ths. :)

  30. Steve Says:

The new Motorola Phone Tools works pretty well for the W385. Had a few issues with drivers due to running Vista but the website offers newest ones. All in all, is a great phone.

  31. Nick Says:

i got this phone a couple of days ago on a pay and talk plan and i cant get the SPARK internet to work it keeps saying server error and below it states download aborted, i need help and i really want to have ringtones please help

  32. Patrick Says:

The phone isnt that great it wont accept ringtones and videos the battery dies fast it needs to be charged everynight the phone that I had Before needed to be charged once every 4 or 5 days. It is a nice phone but not as good as I expected, and it only lets you wrtie 160 letter texts.

  33. Dallas Alexander Says:

This is really a good phone! I like it and the battery life is amazing. It suits me well. If your looking for a simple yet sleek phone, this is the one for you.

  34. Dallas Alexander Says:

  36. meme Says:

  37. curtis Says:

i got the phone a day before i got my new computer, it used to work fine with MPT but now MPT dosnt recognize the phone, is it that the progmar dosnt work with Vista?

  38. Bryan Says:

Bought the W385 today, great little phone, however unless I’m doing something wrong, the latest 5.0 Motorola Phone Tools does not recognize this phone. Can anybody state what version of software they are using to get this to detect? Thanks.

  39. bob Says:

aaron just to tell u, u can save ringtones after u buy them, i made the same mistake but if u go to one of the options at the side, i forget wich it gives u the option to save it to ur phone.

  40. Alison Says:

this phone is horrible. Battery life has sucked fomr day one. I dislike having to use only bluetooth or email to get my pictures off.

  41. Bugger Says:

Well, I’m very happy with my phone; its battery, camera, etc.
Buuut, the recordings cannot be made into ringtones, and the phone won’t hook up to a computer without phone tools.

I’m still learning about binary ringtones.
    Is this phone compatible?
Will it recieve a ringtone if I e-mail it to myself?

  42. james9 Says:

My W385 is OK, I brought Mobile Phone Management Tool (Bluetooth Data Suite) to connect with my PC. You have to play with it for a while, but it works. Using Bluetooth I can download pictures from my phone to my PC and back to my phone. The ringtones on the phone are .mid. I downloaded a mid music files and it did not download. So I guess you can’t put your own ringtones on this W385. If you know something email me: jrsmith511@msn.com

Living it up in New Orleans :)

  43. brandon bolivar Says:

heyy, i’v had my motorola for almost a year now, its realy been a great phone, except my battery life is getting less and less. The ring tones sound awsome when they are downloaded, some people say that you can connect this phine to the computer and move pic to and from it, if anyone knows what hardware i need to do this, could you please e-mail me at brandonbolivar@hotmail.com, thanks a bunch,

  44. akl Says:

I am really disappointed in this phone. I specifically asked when I bought it if I would be able to get the photos off of it and was told yes, but I can’t find a way to do that. USB cable doesn’t do the trick and it won’t text or email any photos, even though I supposedly have that service. Frustrating.

i am thinkin of buyin this phone but i want to know if i can set a different ringtone for each person and it will play when they text not just when they call?

  47. Carol Says:

I have had my W385 for a couple of years now and like it. I bought the Motorola Phone Tools 4 to put more ring tones on, but I can’t get the CD to install on my laptop with Windows XP. It gets as far as selecting the language, then the CD stops. Any suggestions? Anyone know of a free software download program for ring tones? Email: morganhorss@yahoo.com

  48. sadlitteman Says:

This phone is ok for talking but you will never get a ringtone saved for use.

  49. Diane Says:

How do i get the pictures off my new phone

  50. Bob the builder Says:

I have this phone and I’d like to know how can I use a ringtone that I have stored on my computer and transfer it to my phone. I heard there was USB cables that could do that but I’m not sure.

You know how to? Please drop me a quick email at exilgaming [at] hotmail.com (without the spaces and replace the [at] by @)
