March 26, 2008- Google announced on Monday that they are planning to have incredible fast internet service available everyone in the US via their mobile phones by the end of 2009. They have been working with Microsoft and Dell to create this new advancement in service. Together, they are working to take advantage of an unused “white space” portion of TV band that would have the ability to go through more obstacles and travel at higher speeds offering a more advanced service to customers. Google is now working on confronting any obstacles that stand in their way, such as concern that this might cause interference with other, close bands. They reassure that it will not.
Google believes that this is the perfect time in the technological age to offer such as service. With more and more people needing online fast for business and pleasure, this type of service would be met with much excitement from the mobile community. Of course, even if the comities involved sign off on their requests to use afore mentioned white space, it will take until the end of 2009 to have everything up and running at top notch. However, Google hope to begin producing devices that would support this type of technology by the end of the year to get everyone ready for the change.
This type of technology from leaders like Dell, Microsoft and Google will really make a huge impact on the mobile world as we know it. Everyone across the US who is interested will be able to take advantage of this service if they are interested. Those who previously were in a “dead zone” will now be able to use their handsets online.
