the nokia 6301 is a great phone. have not noticed any problems with the battery life and the radio and music player provide great entertainment. the camera and video features work well also. although you cannot browse the web, the hotspot feature allows you to go on about 50 different websites, including espn, cnn, myspace, facebook, mapquest, weather, mtv, and many others eve without a wifi signal. great phone for the price

Got the phone, its good not great. Battery life is horrible. Standby is about a day. 2 hours tops with the music player on full, doesnt alwasy connect to the WiFi.
Good phone for caling not much else

The Nokia 6300i offers surfing through Wifi, the 6301 only UMA access through Wifi.

UMA and bluetooth are great. Radio/music player/video player. Love the phone.

This cellphone isn’t built for surfing the web with it’s wifi it’s only supposed to use wifi for calling at home or at hot spots it’s a really good cellphone though. Recommended.

I have bought a Nokia 6301 on e-bay and although I live in Norway and cannot use the WiFi function here I will be returning to UK within the year. However this phone is locked to Orange and so far I cannot get it unlocked. I have tried e-mailing Orange and phoning to a Sheffield branch from Norway but have received no reply from either. I would like to be able to use this phone in order to try it out so I am very frustrated.

My husband has this phone on an Orange business contract. There is no way we can get it to browse the internet on Wifi (although I have a Nokia E61i which does so perfectly). Orange cannot sort the problem and now tell me that it is not for internet browing (!!!), although we were told it was when we bought it from and Orange shop. Nokia have told us that Orange have changed the settings and that is why it won’t work (we have that in print)! Orange will not come back to us on the question and even now we go into Ornage shops and they are promoting it as a Wifi phone.
Keyboard is difficult to use quickly as the keys are so small and the rocker switch catches on the keys.
All very frustrating.
If you want a good Wifi phone for internet browsing, don’t get this one.

I think the 6301 has a 2.5 mm jack – not a 3.5 mm.
