Opera Mini 5 Released with Hands-on Video
Filed under Wireless Industry News

Opera today announced the Mini 5, the most popular mobile phone browser, which accounts for 25% of mobile phone Internet traffic according to Reuters’ reports. The new Mini 5 browser features tabbed browsing, a “speed dial” thumbnail bookmark browser, a password manager, and an enhanced user interface for use with touch screen devices. Besides that, users can also easily search text on a page, as well.
Likes the older versions of Opera Mini browser, the Mini 5 still relies on the server-side compression technology that compresses up to 90% before delivering the content to the mobile phones.
The release of Mini 5 is crucial for Opera as the Apple’s Safari iPhone and Nokia’s S60 browser market share are growing fast, which stood at 22 percent and 21 percent respectively according to Reuters’ reports.
