Samsung Blue Earth, the World’s Greenest Phone Announced

Today, Samsung Electronics announced a full touchscreen phone made from recycled plastic and powered by a big solar panel. Samsung named the phone “Blue Earth”, and according to Samsung spokesman, the Blue Earth phone is apparently designed to “symbolise a flat and well rounded shiny pebble”.

Samsung claimed that the phone is made from PCM, recycled plastic materials extracted from water bottles.

Screen brightness, backlight duration and Bluetooth can all be adjusted in an energy-efficient mode called “Eco mode”.
In addition there’s an “eco walk” function that lets the user count their steps with an in-built pedometer, calculating how much CO2 emissions have been reduced (and therefore how many trees have been saved) by walking as opposed to taking the car.
There isn’t any much information about its price and availability. We won’t rule out that this is just a concept phone from Samsung to boost’s its image.
