The Samsung SCH-U700 (also known as Samsung Gleam) is a multimedia phone that is designed to rock and roll straight out of the box. The clamshell Samsung Gleam operates only in CDMA networks, giving Verizon Wireless exclusively right to market this ultra-thin Samsung phone in North America. The selling point of the Samsung Gleam is its built-in excellent built-in MP3 music player and dedicated music controls keys on the front panel that gives user an ultimate experience in playing and listening to the music. 1. Alex G Says:

    Pro: looks cool.
Cons: Battery life shorter than advertized. And it doesn’t give sound alarm when it’s getting low; just dies in silence. Doesn’t allow to use an MP3 as a ringtone; this sucks big time. Doesn’t allow to copy files over in “USB drive” mode; you have to use that lame program instead, which doesn’t even work if you run with “Limited User” privileges. Quick dial 1 is permanently assigned to voice mail, which is not what I would really want for quick dial 1.

  2. Charley Z Says:

Phone looks cool and thats the only good thing about this phone. If your service provider is Verizon be prepared to be unhappy a long time. If your into managing your contact list this is not the phone for you. Verizon will make you use their pay service. The phone and the provider SUCKS.

  3. scott Says:

what alex g doesn’t seem to know is that the iPhone killed mp3 ringtones and 1 is always voicemail w/ Verizon. Sorry, Charley but being able to make a call in my house, and at work, is a feat that only Verizon can seem to manage at any price- ill sell my soul for the network. And i have had great luck with this phone. battery life is kinda crappy though.

  4. John Says:

    This phone sucks.

  5. Amanda Says:

Battery does actually blink and make a noise when low but battery life isn’t the greatest when talking… great phone tho. Mp3 music quality sounds great, pretty good phone overall

  6. Mandy Says:

I disagree. I love the phone. In fact, I just downloaded music from my computer through the USB cable to my phone. And it sound beautiful. Plus, it was totally free!! Hint: I used Windows Media Player, to do all of the Sync. On your phone go to Get it Now; then My Music; then Sync. A pop up will come on your computer, if you have WMP on. Then it will prompt you from there, what to do. Good Luck!

  7. Sparky Says:

I absolutely love this phone, it’s the best I’ve ever had. Easy to use, great camera with lots of memory, and looks good, too. Has everything you’d expect from a cell phone without being overly complicated.
