Samsung Launches its first Twitter Phone called Samsung Corby

The largest cell phone maker in South Korea, Samsung, today announced that it is going to release an affordable touch screen phone for addicts of Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace. The new phone will be called Samsung Corby, and it will also support YouTube for watching / uploading videos, and Flirk for users to upload and share pictures.

The South Korean company said the Corby has a 2.8-inch touch screen with haptics feedback for a slight vibrating response.

“We recognize the importance of social networks in the modern mobile industry,” said J.K. Shin, Head of Samsung’s Mobile Division. “The design and functionality of the Corby meets the needs of a highly digitally connected and style conscious youth audience.”

Other features of the Samsung Corby include a built-in 2.0-megapixel digital camera, MP3 music player, and FM radio.

The Corby phone will be sold in Europe for $215. It is available in Jamaican Yellow, Cupid Pink, Minimal White and Festival Orange.
