  1. Hans J Gyllstrom Says:

My comment about the phone is that I like it since the new change after having my od phone. I like how it slides open and have used this phone alot…..but the fact of this is the phone tends to heat up while talking on it. The back side of it gets warm or heats up when using the phone. I don’t know if that is a fault with the battery or the mechanism itself. It has no problem with charging up.

  2. Alex Smith Says:

Overall Great phone I am about to get a memory card for it and some headphones. It is so awesome. It is very sleek and sexy!

  3. Nick L Says:

Just got this phone and love it, very sleek and easy to use. The features are vast and easy to figure out, takes great pictures, so far so good

  4. Sandy Says:

Really nice! Easy to use. Watch out for puppy teeth …..they can bite right through the LED screen in a heartbeat.

  5. help! Says:

i just got it… i bought the memory card and i filled it with mp3’s but it wont let me use them as ringtones… whats up with that?? can anyone shed some light?

  6. Answer For Making Your Own Ringtone Says:

    Read Everything Before Doing Anything!
(This is What I did and I now make my own ringtones for free and i use which ever part of the song i like and i mean any song) Important You Must Have A USB Cable And Memory Card For Your Phone If You Don’t See Third:)

First: Use The Program -Audacity- (You can get it at Download.com free software) To Cut Your Favorite Part of A Song -Max- (15 Seconds Long Only) (Not 15 And A Half Or 16 Just 15 Okay Or Less If You Want, No Longer!) C’mon Im Avoiding You Frustation of “It Didn’t Work” Boohoo. It Won’t Work If You Try And Do It Longer.

Second: Install – Open Program – Drag and Drop Song – Cut Your Favorite 15 Seconds – Export As WAV – Change To MP3 Using Windows Converter (Just Right Click The Song And Convert (WindowsXP) or Use MusicMatch) 128bit is fine. How Ever You Do It Just Make It Into An MP3 Format.

Third: Use A USB Cable (If you Dont Have One Buy One At Cellphoneshop.com its the cheapest way trust me find what you need (Memory Card 2GB and USB CABLE) Use Coupon Code: merryxmas10 or merryxmas20 for a 10% or 20% discount which ever works. Just Do It Regular Mail Only For Codes Will Take About 10 Days To Get.

Fourth: Using Your USB Cable Plug Your Phone Into Computer And Copy And Paste The Cut 15 Seconds Of The Song Into (Audio) And You Have Your Self-Made Ringtone.

These Are The Steps I took to do this and it worked for me and there is no reason why it shouldn’t work for you NO REASON JUST FOLLOW THE STEPS.

  7. Skip Says:

I have found, through experimentation, that music I placed on the phone cannot be ringtones UNLESS they are about 180k or less. I used software to crop songs to that size and they work fine as ringtones.

Another issue. the booklet says this phone allows up to a 4gb memory card. DO NOT DO THIS!!! It scrambles the phone’s operating system!!! 2gb works fine. Luckily, I was within the 30 days of purchase and ATT had to give me another phone.

  8. Skip Says:

One more observation…the bigger the ringtone (ie 180k vs 50k), the longer it takes for the phone to ring. With a smaller ringtone, the phone rings within 1 second. With a 180k ringtone, it takes up to 4 seconds to ring. By that time, most callers who do not leave messages hang up (is this an advantage?).

My custom ringtones average 20-25 seconds.

  9. Rika Says:

the A737 is the best phone ever. Seriously its better than the iphone and DEFINITLY better than the razor and chocolate. U no how to use it within the first second because it is so easy to read and use. the only bad things are that since its a slider it gets lots of scraches and if u turn it on and off a bunch it louses power easily, one more thing on the bad side is if you get it wet it doesn’t function, trust me dont try it, all my friends want too play with it. it has sooooooo… much memorie and aplications. IT IS THE BESTEST! :) (:

  10. rika Says:

    The A737 is so cool

  11. rika Says:

If you are going to get a phone, get the A737.

  12. GMAC Says:

The phone is great, sleek, neat and is a slider so very modern. The only problem is that the phone tends to heat up so I am very concerned about that. Not sure how this affects the SARS – any comments on this?

  13. JEC Says:

This phone is totally bad. For one thing the battery panel is difficult to take off, which was a requirement since the design of the sims card is totally sucks. Yes, my sims card fucked up and I missed calls for about a week because of it. The solution was to take off the panel, remove and then reinsert the sims card. Great engineering Samsung, you sucks.

And why can’t I do something as simple as block a call from an unwanted number? This phone has so many functions, yet falls short when it comes to it’s primary purpose…

And oh yeah, the battery pack gets hot when making calls.

  14. shawn Says:

And why can’t I do something as simple as block a call from an unwanted number? This phone has so many functions, yet falls short when it comes to it’s primary purpose… ?

    you can and i have

  15. realdealsixx Says:

i had this phone and returned it due to over heating.the phone gets very warm then it kills the battery.i’m not sure if this was a defective phone or there all like that ?

  16. suezq Says:

As far as blocking a call, read your manual, on page 82 at the top under Auto Reject it takes you through the steps to do this. This is an awesome phone, I have had many, and aside from the Nokia 6126, it has everything a cell phone needs. (I miss being able to create themes, which I could do on the Nokia, that is all).

And please, for the sake of most of us, watch your language. Thanks.

    Grace and Peace. <

  18. returning it Says:

mine keeps over heating and drains the battery, i was on bluetooth but if not it would have burnt my face

  19. Way Says:

the phone samsung a737 is hot. I mean its overheat issue. it really can burn someone’s face. i worry it will catch fire. getting hot also means short battery life. i started to dislike the phone.

  20. samsung man Says:

this phone is freakin amazing. like omg so crazy! this phone has like anything u need plus more! if you are looking for a new phone, get this one. super awesome phone. get it.

  21. Daniel Says:

Mine never gets hot (unlike the laptop that burning my legs right now) good phone!

  22. Tom Says:

I have a question. I got this for a friend since she fell in love with it. I have Samsung PC Studio 3 which works fine for ring tones, wallpapers, videos and music. I can’t figure how to install an application using the USB (she didn’t want the data plan). The phone manual says they are installed in the APPLICATION folder on the phone not the memory card. Neither PC Studio or Windows Media allow you to access that folder and if you put the jad and jar files in another folder it doesn’t recognize them. Anyone found an answer??

  23. Tom Says:

Has anyone figured out how to load application using a USB cable?

  24. Peggy Says:

I love the phone, but it does not recognize my ringtones. Can you not transfer them using bluetooth? A previous poster referred to needing a data cable. Is that what I am doing wrong?. I don’t understand because it recognized some homemade ringtones I had on my card, but these recent ones it does not recognize as ringtones even though it will play them. Any ideas

  25. Eric Says:

My phone died yesterday. Overheating (really quite hot) and shorting out the battery. Had it for 4 months. Went out very suddenly without charger attached. When I replaced the battery with a fully charged one, it got very hot and shut off, giving a message that it was “either too hot or too cold” for operation.

  26. Eric @ CT Says:

Excellent phone. I was just able to make my own ringtone from one of my MP3’s by using Audacity and Bluetooth. I think the largest file you can make a ringtone is 300KB because I had a 301KB file and it considered it Music, but I made another one 289KB and it considered it Audio, and I was able to make it into a ring tone. Speaker is loud for music but not loud for speaker phone, kind of strange. Other than that, the other thing that bothers me about this phone is accidentally hitting the hang up button when I’m trying to take it out of my pocket.

  27. Lisa Says:

The keypad is a little tight for texting. I do like the small size and the slider feature, though. Im just concerned about the heat issue. I noticed it getting very warm while talking, even texting for several minutes and it killed the battery. Does anybody have a phone that does NOT heat up? Is this how they all are or do I have a bad one?

  28. RSfan Says:

i love this phone, i got it in orange and it is amazing. im hoping to soon get a usb cable so that i can download music. i don’t text and i talk for short periods, so i havent noticed the heating up. The keypad is, as lisa said, a little small for inputting names in my contacts as well as other notes/data. all in all, i’d give it a 4.5/5

  29. SInge Says:

No phone that heats up like this can last!
Have swapped it out 3 times – replaced with a new battery – nothing helps. This is a design flaw.

  30. Alyssa Says:

I’m having heat problems now too. I just noticed it two days ago, and it drains my phone’s battery enormously. I’m not sure what to do; I’ve only had it for a month.

  31. dehue Says:

Hmm, I don’t know why everyone is having trouble making their own ringtones. All you have to do is go to the record audio appilcation, then blast some music from your laptop/speakers and record the portion of the song that you like. Free, and doesn’t require any expensive cables or microcards.
Overall I like this phone, the only problem is that you have to pay to get any features. What I’ve found out is that without a memorycard, a special usb cable, headphones and lots of money to buy all the application stuff, the phone doesn’t really do much. And so far the customization options are kind of bad without any additional appilcations. There is barely any options in the settings, I can’t turn off the camera shutter sound , I can’t change the text/look color of the phone navigation(what if I dont like orange?, and I mean of all the menus, not just the one where you enter in numbers)

  32. kyle Says:

i had the phone it worked great…and one day it over heated for absoulutely no reason…my grandma also purchased the phone and she had the same problem multible times…DONT BUY IT!!!!at&t wont even take it back…im stuck with this broken phone that doesnt do a thing

  33. Blaine Says:

people, go to phonezoo.com , you can make your own ringtones there (Provided you have them off limewire or itunes etc. on your computer) you can make them last up to 30 seconds or less and you can also make your own wallpapers and you can download free games as well. The best part of it all is, they send you your stuff via text message : ) (only thing that sucks about it is if you don’t have texting and internet access, it can cost alot.

I also just got this phone and i bought it used and love it.

I don’t really notice the overheating though.

the only flaw in mine is the battery life :/ in only lasts about 1 1/2 days when im not using it and like 10 hours when i am

key board is a little small but you get used to it.

Overall rating i think is 7/10

  34. Carol Says:

Someone sent me a ringtone and it’s in my inbox but I cannot figure out how to get it over into the ringtones folder. Same with a wallpaper I downloaded – in my inbox but the only option seems to be to send it to my folder.

  35. Lisa Says:

Ok so i love my phone but i’ve only had it for about 3 months….it used to send multimedia messages like songs pictures videos, etc. but it won’t now….idk why…i called the at&t customer service and was put on hold for over 30 minutes and then they hung up on me….NOT A GOOD WAY TO KEEP A CUSTOMER!!! Plzzz help! u can e-mail me at emo_lisa_012@yahoo.com DO NOT E-MAIL ME UNLESS U CAN HELP ME!! thanx!
