TomTom, one of the world’s largest GPS device maker, announced its long-awaited iPhone app at the Apple Worldwide Developer’s Conference. The TomTom iPhone app supports turn-by-turn spoken directions and voice activation for the new iPhone 3G S, announced yesterday.
Besides that, TomTom will sell a customized mounting kit for iPhone, allowing users to mount the iPhone on windshield. The mounting kit also provides a speaker and microphone to the iPhone. However, the kit doesn’t support voice commands for inputting directions.
The TomTom app and the mounting kit will be available in summer of 2009.
