Car makers have pioneered pink slip protection, and now, cell phone carrier, Virgin Mobile USA is going to offer similar protection for its subscribers. Today, Virgin Mobile USA announced a new unemployment assistance program and new national prepaid plans.
Virgin’s pink slip protection plan is that it will cover monthly service charges (includes taxes and fees) for up to three months for customers who become unemployed.
To qualify for the unemployment assistance, subscribers will have to be with Virgin for at least two months, and have to prove eligibility for state unemployment benefits. Plans start from $30 to $50 is eligible. If you are an existing customer, you would have to wait till June 30 to enroll. New customers will automatically be enrolled in the program.

Once you add in the unlimited texting and internet it’s over a $100 for Virgin Mobile. It’s like getting the hot dog without the buns. I will stick to my Boost Mobile where I can get unlimited everything and best of all if I lose my job, I don’t have to pay the bill until I get my job back.
