Together they have made QuickPlay’s Open Video the first media platform to support XM Radio Mobile. The service will be universally available on select RIM Blackberry smartphomes. With the ability to run on most major mobiles service providers’ networks, the service will allow users to access 20 exclusive XM channels featuring commercial free streaming music. This service will be available for just $7.99 per month, of course a 24 hour free trial will also be available for all to try out.
Users will be able to listen to a wide variety of music genres including everything from 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s channels, Top 20 Hits, Alternative Rock, Jazz, Country Hits and Indie Rock, as well uncensored talk and comedy channels. The best part is that Blackberry users will be able to access these features just about anywhere they can get a antenna signal. All channels available through XM will be easy to access through the user friendly interface that features graphics and icons for visual stimulation along with your listening pleasure. Users will be able to see song titles, artists, and genres as they listen to their tunes. Multi-tasking is no problem either. Users will be able to easily run XM in the background while they complete other tasks on their Blackberry.
In order to run the XM applications, version 4.2 software or higher will be require on the Blackberry. Some models that will support these XM features are 8800 series, 8700 series, Pearl series, and Curves series Blackberry smartphones.
