Google moved a step closer to become one of the biggest players in the new mobile world. Today Google announced that its mobile search team has put together a new universal search for all mobile phones in over 60 countries and 38 languages. Searches performed on smartphone and feature phones alike will return Google’s universal search results, including news, blogs, images, videos and products. The results are also optimized for mobile use.

Someone posted a video review of Nokia 6790 Surge (the name is not yet confirmed) at YouTube. It looks like the phone will goes to AT&T. The 6790 Surge is a messaging phone powered by Nokia’s Symbian S60 operating system. It features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 2-MP digital camera, QVGA display, and a 1,500 mAh battery. BlackBerry Tour, the latest BlackBerry’s PDA phone, will be available at Verizon Wireless stores starting on July 12. The selling price is $200 after rebates with new agreement. Those interested can pre-order the Tour online starting today.

This is a goods news for T-Mobile customers or customers-to-be. T-Mobile lands HTC Touch Pro 2, a PDA phone powered by Windows 6.1 Professional (upgradeable to 6.5).

Verizon Wireless today introduced HTC Ozone, a PDA phone with a full QWETY keyboard. The Ozone phone looks very alike to Palm Centro, a not so successful product for struggling Palm. The Ozone supports Verizon Wireless’ 3G network, and Wi-Fi network. It also has global roaming capabilities, allowing users to use it in other countries.

The candy bar shaped Ozone phone is powered by Windows mobile operating system. It supports VZ Navigator (GPS navigation system), Microsoft® Exchange synchronization with Microsoft® Office Mobile, and Visual Voice Mail.

The HTC Ozone will be $49.99 after a $70 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. Customers will receive the rebate in the form of a debit card; upon receipt, customers may use the card as cash anywhere debit cards are accepted.

Sony Ericsson today announced a sophisticated slider phone, Sony Ericsson T715, in London. The T715 supports fast 3G connection and has a large keyboard and big font size. It has a 3.2-megapixel digital camera with photo light feature for taking pictures in low light conditions.

HTC today unearthed the HTC Hero in London. HTC Hero is another Android-powered touch screen phone, after HTC G1, and HTC Magic. Features and specifications of Hero include a 3.2-inch TFT touch screen (320 x 480 pixels), a whopping 5-megapixel digital camera, 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7200A processor, 512 MB ROM, 288 MB RAM, 3.5 mm headphone jack, HSPA on the 900 and 2100 MHz bands, quadband GSM/EDGE, WiFi, GPS, compass and microSD slot.
