I recently updated the firmware of my w995, having made a backup and done everything as instructed. All data on the phone disappeared and now I cannot connect to the phone via PC suite. The backup had also not worked but this is less of a problem since I have the info in Outlook. The Support service has not replied to my mail asking what I should do. Does anyone else have this problem?

In the end I realized that I was not informed that I should also update PC Suite. I had asked for automatic updates but obviously nobody had thought of letting me know that PC Suite updates have to be asked for manually. Thankfully I had not done the whole work of recreating my content, which was actually possible to get back from the the backup once the new PC Suite version was in place. Talk about incomplete information. And no reply from SE Support yet.

I have exactly the same problem at the moment. I updated the software on my W995 as suggested by the PC suite. Since then I've been unable to sync my phone with MS Outlook. Really frustrating as I now have to manually input all my phone numbers again... Plus I've also no way of getting my Outlook calendar data onto my phone now.

Any suggestions on how I can rectify the problem? My PC Suite software is up to date so unfortunately that's not the problem.

Have you tried to download the firmware once more - making sure the bettery is absolutely 100% full. This is the only other thing I did, so maybe it was this that did the trick....

Turned out the PC suite software was NOT the most up to date! I reinstalled the software from the supplied CD, then ran a check for software updates. Nothing came back and the phone still refused to sync! I then uninstalled the CD software once again, and then downloaded the most recent version off the SE website, Version 6.0. Job done :) I received an email from the SE team the other day suggesting exactly the same solution. Apparently the latest software has all the necessary drivers the previous versions were lacking.

My w995 went off after I ended a phone call. When I turned it on it was requesting for a SIM card to be inserted although my SIM was still in it. Then I realised the theme had chaged by itself. Also Bluetooth was disabled. After a while it went off. Now it is back on, but the battery is low; however when I try charging it it saids it can not charge because the battery is not a genuine SE battery. I also can not contect to the SE PC Suite to backup my information.

What should I do? Please help.

After reinstalling the latest PC Suite the drivers reinstall and the phone connects again.
