Hi, I recently bought this phone and when i text using emoticons i get them as text instead of icons. and similarly when i receive a text message with emoticons, i read them as text instead of seeing them as icons (smile icon is like this :) ...
what do i need to do if I need them as ICONS and not as text.
Actually for the ringtones they have to be 300K or under! It doesnt matter how long they are it matters the k number! I have had several phones that are like this!
Your songs can be ringtones if they are under 300 kb so you will have to edited a copy of the song and then sync it to your phone. I used Audacity to edit the song.
I have a samsung impression. I am able to download ringtones. But when I try to set it up for a particular contact, it does not work. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
you have to have this contact on your phone not on your sim card. you can not save personal information like birthdays either. bad design on their part.
the frilly flowers and such? you can't... its one of the downsides of the phone. I would call samsung and tell them that is one of the things you hate the most. samsung is 18889874357 and ask them to release a patch to fix it.
I Hate that flower crap. I tried to open the internal memory folders and the images are locked. I just want to edit them and save over them but you cant even open them in the software. Any way into the images other than through the samsung installer

I had this same exact problem happen to me, i tried calling tech support and they offered no help on the situation at all. my font size was huge when this error first happened, and now it is at the minimum size, most likely like yours. for me the change in size was just random, but be thankful that it is small opposed to incredibly large, cause that was horrible!
when you open the keyboard out press the "volume" arrows that side to side (when the keyboard is open) pess it to the left it gets smaller right it gets bigger
i found this one out on accident. to change the font size of your text messages..simply press the up and down keys (volume keys underneath the keyboard) it worked for me. hopefully works for you! :)

hi i work for a third party att store. I am trying to get this very same problem reported to att higher ups. Problems with phone can include:
forbidden internet
text messages not being able to send or recieve unless battery pull
lag of texts incoming
there is nothing wrong with your account but its the phone itself... i have one customer who i have done 3 warranty exchanges on and he still has the problem. I can not get problem reported because i am only person and need multiple accounts to prove there is an issue.
Please report this to samsung's hotline which is 18889874357 that you are have the following problems. This will hopefully allow them to fix the situation and broadcast a national patch.

Everytime I use the full touch-screen keyboard (when it's to the side) if I type i and then put a space it locks up on me. Does anyone else have a problem with this? This is the second phone that has done this to me.
is a known issue with the impression... there should be a patch released soon... do you have t9 enabled? its only happening when you have t9 enabled... personally i dont use t9 when i use a keyboard. to stop it from happening disable t9

I cannot send picture messages with my Impression. However, I can receive them. I keep getting this error message "Incorrect Server Response". I've tried turning my phone on and off and updating through AT&T.
Also, I can't reset my phone. None of the default passwords work. Any suggestions?

Hit the volume button on the side of the phone and it should go to the size that you want. Thats how i changed mine.
