LG Lotus is a clamshell phone released for Sprint in United States in 3rd quarter of 2008. The LG Lotus is a recipient of the prestigious Red Dot Design Award for its unique and chic form factor. Although the Lotus phone is slim and tiny, LG still manages to pack a full QWERTY keyboard, GPS navigation, a 2.0-megapixel digital camera, MP3 digital music player, and video player into the phone. I haven't had the phone for too long yet. So far I have no regrets, though! Besides being pretty chic it fills my texting needs which is what I wanted from my phone. Kudos to LG you made another awesome phone!

by any chance have you played with personalizing the carousel and installing the email tile? my email tile does not laod all the time and the icon disappears periodically...
i will be calling sprint support to let them know and start working on it...i think it deals with the fact the actual tile constantly checks over the air (internet connection)communication for email updates...
but it does look stupid with a missing icon...

I just got the Lotus 3 days ago and I only have one complaint and it might just be the fact that I'm always playing with it, the battery life on it seems to be a bit lacking. Aside from that I love everything about the phone and the features it provides (ie the youtube mobile app is nice) Sprint one click is a nice menu system from the usual home screen icon layout though it lags a bit at times. All in all I rate the phone a 4.7/5 I'd recommend it to any aid texter unless you're into the slide design, then go with the rant.

I bought the Lotus about a week ago and I love it! I am having a problem assigning a ringtone to all contacts. I know how to change the ringers it's just not switching! I talked to sprint and they couldn't figure it out either so I switched it out for another one and I am still having the problem. I can assign a ringtone to an individual contact but not to ALL contacts at one time and I have to many to sit and do that. Sprint said it might just be a glitch in the phone or a problem in the shipment of phones the store received (which sounds odd to me) they also said there might be a update for the phone eventually. I tried the update thats in the phone but it didn't work. Very weird! I'm still thinking about keeping it because other than that I love it!

hey i had the same problem...i bet you got the store to switch all your contacts to the new lotus. and now i bet it only plays tone 1. you have to go to all your contacts...yeah all of them and edit them and for each person you have to change tone 1 to default ringer...then it should work with whatever ringer you choose from then on

when you go to the mp3 or which ever tone you want go to right clicker option and press assign. it will tell you all contact or 1 contact.

First off, Tara's rock! ha.
Anyway, if you had all your contatcs switched over you might notice that all your contacts are assigned to Tone1.
I had to go through all 300 of my contacts and switch them over to "Default" so that whichever ringtone I have set, it rings the same for all. I had this problem too, I couldn't figure it out untill like 3rd day I had it. It was a pain in the butt, but I got it done, and I still LOVE the thing.

Its a cool phone.I've been using Nokias for years in fact this is my first phone that is not a Nokia. The only thing i do not like about the phone is the carousel on the main menu and the fact you have to go through many screens to get to a certain function you want. A nokia phone lets you adjust what you want at the push of a button. I kinda miss that.other than that i love it.

Woweeee I love this phone!!!! it has it all!!and then some I purchased the purple color and it' beautiful.I bought the car charger to keep it charged while playing music.The funtions are all so Awesome,I have never seen a phone that does so much it is unbelievable.If you are having trouble,go to Sprint.com sign in and register,you can also watch a video on how your phone works! this will help you operate the phone,I love the voice calling.ILOVE IT ALL PERIOD! great job LOTOS LG.When people see the phone they are in orr about it.I have played w/it for 4 days constantly trying to remember all the funtions,I have weather/update news constanly.By the way buy the plastic hard cover to protect it.Good Luck!

I just got this phone today and so far love it. I have had many phones in the past and so far this is the best one yet. Kudos to Sprint. Very user friendly. So far no problems. Love it. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Enjoy.

I love the qwerty keyboard and that it is a flip is a extra bonus. I have smartphones and other big and bulky phones and this is unique and a great phone. Love it. Get it you will enjoy it. I have had no problems with this at all. I have the purple one and it is so pretty, another kudos to sprint.

First off, The Lotus is a sick phone! It exceeds 90% percent of the phones on the market. It has Google Earth (even Googles Street View)/GPS, a dedicated YouTube server just for the phone (not a generic application) so it operates flawlessly, Msn/Aol/Yahoo messenger, Email (im signed into 3 different email accounts at all times, which is nice). I love the multi-tasking ability, being able to listen to music and play on myspace/the internet is awesome. Downloading Opera-Mini is a must for this phone, it lets you view internet pages just as it is on a PC, no mobile view crap. In fact, im writing this on my LG Lotus right now. My only complaint is that sometimes my phone gets glitchy. It will turn off & restart by itself (a 20 second process) when im using Opera or YouTube. It happens about 2 or 3 times a day, a small price to pay for such a capable phone. With everything that is packed into this phone, I can deal with the small glitch. Sprint/LG did a remarkable job with this phone. To top it off, my laptop crashed & I was left without a computer for 3 months, having my Lotus completely stood up to the job and made me realize I really didnt even need my computer, afterall. Buy this phone, it'll make you look down on iPhones and Blackberry's. Also, its a Flip-Phone, so its half the size and it doesnt call people on its own.

Ok First of all the LG lotos is a great phone and if your having problems then just tell the sprint service that your phone is having problems if they cant solve it then get a new phone if you dont like it. I got the purpel one and its beautiful! I Love everthing about the LG lotos!!!!!

How did you get your ringtones from iTunes to the phone? I have made ringtones and put them on the phone but then cannot set them as a ringtone. What folder do you have to put them into? I can only see the DCIM, Email, bluetooth and music folders. I have tried both the DCIM and music folders but it won't allow me to set them as ringtones. Thanks!

I got the purple lotus this week. So far it's great. I didn't really got it for the internet capabilities but the size and design. I am not into bulky phones like blackberries or the rant-like design. the lotus is great.
However, before getting the lotus I was getting into the habit of using the scheduler in my phone as a reminder for an array of things.
Does somebody know how for it not to snooze on its own? Meaning that if the event is at 7:00pm and its alarm goes off.. it only goes off once and not every 5 or 10 minutes. I don't want to drive everyone in my office crazy if by chance my phone is on my desk and I am not. I want to it to just notify me once and then list the event on the missed alerts list, so that when I grab my phone and open it it tells me about the event. I wish one could select to turn on or off the snooze when setting up the event.
Same thing with the Alarm. I have one set for every morning and unless I open the phone and press something. It would go off every so many minutes. I am not a snoozer. I get up. I leave my phone in a table by my door not next to my bed. So unless I go check it it keep ringing and ringing.
I have been playing with it for a few days.. yet I haven't found a way to disable auto snooze. Anyone can help??
I tried not using an alarm for some events on my scheduler thinking it would publish an event on the missed alert list. but no.. and since I use the scheduler sporadically I need to notify me of what's there without me going to it. i just want one alarm or notification.
Do missed alarms or alerts even go to missed evets lists? (my old samsung would do it, and I became really accustom to it)
Also, do you know where, how I can get a To-Do-list-like to download?

ok, so i've had the lotus for a good minute now. but i have videos on my phone that i want to put onto my computer; so that maybe i can put on youtube, facebook, etc. but i dont know how!! i know that when i connect my phone to the computer with the usb cord i have to select a few options like "mass storage" "pictbridge" etc.. but it always only allows me to upload my pictures. I WANT TO UPLOAD MY VIDEOS.

I was forced to get a new phone as my old one croked, I should have done some research and not been impulsive about getting a replacement. I certainly wouldnt have picked this one. during some web usage the phone shuts off for no particular reason. the battery life is less than 7 hours, and beware, you cannot, will not ever be able to delete your list of text message "recipients". Not available. The phone style is great, love the purple but not worth the headaches I've had so far with it. Downloading ringtones is an all day affair...if your successful. wouldnt recommend for anything other than the occasional phone call. text messaging folder....no in box, no sent items, no deleted items....simply conversation after conversation. tradin' mine in.

I hate that you can not delete the text contacts. I tried calling customer service and they told me that you could not delete the text contact that you sent a message to. That really SUCKS!

I just got a new Rant on Monday and hated it. I decided to trade it in for the Lotus, even though I had to pay $100 to get it ($50 after mail in rebate). It was totally worth it! This phone is the best phone I have had by far. It's perfect for someone like me who prefers the flip but is a texting machine. And it has way better features than the Rant...better ringers, better screen savers...a great phone all around. Very satisfied!

some issues- yes, but I've never had a phone without issues. As far as the txt contacts... it only holds about 25 recipients- then it deletes them itself. I lost a number that I forgot to save. If you are using the phone to contact people you shouldn't be...maybe you should get a different phone- or a different significant other.
