Motorola Hint, also known as Motorola QA30, is a CDMA slider phone with a full QWERTY keyboard that could slide out from the bottom. The Motorola Hint has a built-in 2.0-megapixel digital camera / camcorder, a MP3 digital music player, and GPS navigation system (requires subscription from carrier). It features a 2.5-inch landscape oriented QVGA LCD screen to ease users in text-messaging. The Hint phone has a 3.5mm headset jack for users to plug-in favorite headsets.

I was wondering if you are able to have your Contact ring tone play when you get a text?
Or is it just a setting that the Hint as? The contact's ring tone will only play when they call.

Go to "Settings" then "Phone" then "Shortcuts" and you can select Right 1,2 or 3 to change the shortcuts on the home screen.

0 vote I Love My Motorola Hint
I just recieved my motorola hint yesterday as an early, birthday present from my husband and our kids. For one, it is a very small phone, which is fine by me. I'm 4'11 and very petite, so a petite phone is cool for me. While you cannot change the themes, you can go online to www.myxer.com This site works fine for my phone, for making my own ringtones, and also downloading wallpapers. The volume for the ringtones is extremely loud. Browsing the internet on it, works perfectly fine for me. I'm able to check my email on yahoo and also get on messenger, plus browse myspace & facebook. :) The screen is very clear, and very bright. The camera works great on it also, plus the feature of adding frames to your pics, editing them, putting clip art, text, and cropping and also resizing your photo. It also has a feature on the editing part in the pictures, to where you can change the photo effect to black & white, sepia, normal, & also negative.... after you have already taken the picture. Another feature I love. :) It has not turned off by itself, but the screen will go to black when it's not in use. My guess is it's a battery saving feature on the phone. I charged my phone overnight and was able to text all day... browse the internet, plus talk on it, and the battery meter only went down by one bar. So the battery life is awesome on this phone. I had updated from the samsung messager (another AWESOME phone), to the motorola hint through my cell company Cricket. I do not know about the music player yet, because I haven't tried that out. But I did watch a couple of reviews on this phone on youtube, and one of which was showing the music player, and it was nice. All in all, this is an extremely nice phone. For my ringtones I've been going to www.myxer.com a website I've used for a while. lol

Go to Myxer.com and register your phone, as long as you can receive text messages you should be able to send yourself ringtones and wallpapers.

I love this phone but I don't understand something,
I have a micro sd card and when I put it onto my laptop, I drag my mp3. file into my_sounds and music.. I put my micro sd card into my phone and I can listen to it, but I can't put it as my ringtone?
When I go to sounds, it only comes up the sounds I had with the phone to start with.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?

I GOT THIS PHONE THE OTHER DAY AND I WAS HAPPY AT FIRST UNTIL I FOUND OUT THAT YOUTUBE VIDEOS DONT WORK ON THIS CRICKET NETWORK , EVEN WHEN I HAVE SEEN IT WORK BEFORE ON OTHER PEOPLES PHONE. The menu system is not changable. It takes6 to 10 keys to get to common items that could all be put under one menu if it were changable like the LG I replaced. Also, the slide does not lock in place and the phone makes calls in my pocket because the key lock does not alpply to the dial button. The menu system is set up like Walmart products so you have to go past 5 items you do not want to get to the one you want.

You should be able to change the shortcuts on your homepage simply by going to phone settings; and the lock button on the top of the phone will lock your phone so that none of the front buttons will do anything unless you unlock it or open the phone.

The phone is okay and I like it alot I just don't understand why it won't let me download videos over 2mb. That really sucks and that is enough to make me get rid of it cause I have to have my vidoes cause thats what I bought it for. All well guess I willl be looking for another phone.
