Motorola i576 is a rugged clamshell phone that is certified to military specification 810F for dust, shock and vibration. The i576 is first released for Sprint, formerly Nextel, and it supports Nextel Direct Connect and Group Connect technologies. According to Sprint, the i576 phone can simultaneously communicate with up to 20 other Direct Connect users. Another great feature of the i576 is its built-in GPS navigation system, which allows users to find locations. Well I just got it in yesterday-- charged it, and so far for the first time in a long while I didn't have to charge my phone 3 times in a day-- speaker could be a little louder.... other than that seems to be a great phone... HUGE improvement over my last one.. the wonderful i760... went through 3 of those in a year......

im having problems with getting pictures from my friends, its not working right, i can get the message, but no picture, just something that says <>
0 vote Just got the I576..... Phone
Just got the I576..... Phone worked for 2 hours then went white screen. Took it back to sprint, they said it was defective. I got a new one. I have uploaded mp3, wav, and midi files in an attempt to change my ringtone to something different than the garbabe they give you. Well.... it doesn't let you use your custom sound files as ringtones. Why you ask, the guy at sprint told me it was because they want to sell you more ringtones.
I will never by a nextel again, and will tell everyone i know to stay away!

Hello, That's actually not true. My dad has an i576 and isn't a tech guy, so I helped him out with his ringtone needs. What you have to do is make the ringtone the right way. It's a pain, but if you make the mp3 mono at 32 kbps, with a sample rate of 8 000 Hz, you can e-mail it to yourself at yourtendigitphonenumber@messaging.nextel.com
They don't sound wonderful, but they work. The sprint guy was just an idiot. Good luck.
