This phone was advertised as an easy to use mp3 player, which it certainly is not. First of all you need a miniSD card that it does not come with and you also need a mini usb cable to connect the phone to your computer (it does not come with this either). I bought a miniSD card and already had a mini usb cable but when I plug it into the computer it says that it cannot install the hardware because it cannot find the software. Well, guess what? It did not come with the software either. Before you buy this phone based on its MP3 capabilities, you may want to think twice.

I had no problem getting the phone to hook up to my computer. In fact, I was able to hook it up to my home computer and my work computer. You probably have a bad handset or there is a problem with your operating system, because my phone shown no problems.

I've had the phone for a week and i like it, it has everything i need, except a camera, but as far as the mp3 player, it was easy as pie to put songs on it, i got the card and usb connecter, dragged my mp3 files to the
mem card file, and put the mem card in my phone, oh but i formatted the empty card in my phone first by going to settings>storage>memory card>format, takes 10 seconds tops.
pros:

cons:
mp3 player drains batt quick
no cam/vid

This phone is the worst. After sending more than 5 or so texts to someone, it won't send any texts & I have to turn the phone off and on. If you like your phone locking up on a daily basis, I suggest this one for you. I took it to my local cricket service place & they said I might need a software update & then let me leave the store only to find via the web that they do that in store!?!??!

Do you think there is something wrong with the phone or the memory card? I have a usb too my computer just freezes up whenever I get the the tranfering of songs part. I just wish I could use the mp3 player.

0 vote How to connect phone and upload MP3s

4

Uploading MP3s to this phone is easy:
First, check under Settings, 6. USB if the USB port is used for transfering to the Media Card or if it is set to use as a Modem. Once it is set to use as a Media Card, simply plug in the phone with the mini USB cable into the computer. You will also need the 4 GB or less MicroSD card installed, which needs to be installed under the battery. Once the phone is plugged in, the drive will appear as a removable drive in Windows. Copy MP3 files from your computer and paste them inside the my_music folder to be able to play the MP3s.
I did not give this phone the 5 stars due to a Bootloader USB Init error, solid blue screen on the top, white letters on the bottom. Cricket charged me 45 dollars to replace it.
Otherwise, this phone works great, with the speakerphone, MP3 player and voicemail.

I can take/receive calls (VE240 with HT820).

I bought this phone because it was affordable and has many features. I am very pleased with it because it was simple to add music and pictures to it with the MicroSD card, and well I'm not a computer genius. I am still trying to figure out how to set my songs as the ringtones. But everything else works.

Had the same problem. Found out today that this phone DOES NOT support using your mp3's as ring tones. You can send an mp3 in a text and then save it and use it as ringtone, but not from sd card.

I got this phone from MetroPcs and it rocks. I am having a little confusion and problem getting homemade ringtones onto my phone. Also my daughter slobered all over my phone and now the head phone jack shorts out. Do I send it back to Moto? or do I complain to MetroPcs? My phone is under warrenty. Any solutions to the ringtone problem and the head phone jack problem?
