Released primarily for Cricket and MetroPC in United States, the Motorola VE240 isn’t any fancy phone that users would be excited about. The VE240 is a CDMA candybar shaped phone that has standard mobile phone features, including Speakerphone, Stereo Bluetooth, and Voice Commands. Besides that, this Motorola phone also has MP3 music player, which is considered a bonus feature for this barebone phone. The VE240 also features a microSD memory expansion slot that supports up to 4GB of memory upgrade.

1 vote motorola ve240 MP3 player
This phone was advertised as an easy to use mp3 player, which it certainly is not. First of all you need a miniSD card that it does not come with and you also need a mini usb cable to connect the phone to your computer (it does not come with this either). I bought a miniSD card and already had a mini usb cable but when I plug it into the computer it says that it cannot install the hardware because it cannot find the software. Well, guess what? It did not come with the software either. Before you buy this phone based on its MP3 capabilities, you may want to think twice.

It is a great phone with a lot of features for the money.
0 vote ugh.
This phone is the worst. After sending more than 5 or so texts to someone, it won't send any texts & I have to turn the phone off and on. If you like your phone locking up on a daily basis, I suggest this one for you. I took it to my local cricket service place & they said I might need a software update & then let me leave the store only to find via the web that they do that in store!?!??!

I have a memory card that I bought for my phone on yesterday so that I can use the mp3 player feature on it, and the card wont format. Do you think there is something wrong with the phone or the memory card? I have a usb too my computer just freezes up whenever I get the the tranfering of songs part. I just wish I could use the mp3 player.

0 vote How to connect phone and upload MP3s
Uploading MP3s to this phone is easy:
First, check under Settings, 6. USB if the USB port is used for transfering to the Media Card or if it is set to use as a Modem. Once it is set to use as a Media Card, simply plug in the phone with the mini USB cable into the computer. You will also need the 4 GB or less MicroSD card installed, which needs to be installed under the battery. Once the phone is plugged in, the drive will appear as a removable drive in Windows. Copy MP3 files from your computer and paste them inside the my_music folder to be able to play the MP3s.
I did not give this phone the 5 stars due to a Bootloader USB Init error, solid blue screen on the top, white letters on the bottom. Cricket charged me 45 dollars to replace it.
Otherwise, this phone works great, with the speakerphone, MP3 player and voicemail.

Once you have loaded your audio files onto the phone via Mass Storage you have to set the USB back to Modem/Comm for the player to work. As long as you have them in the my_music folder you should be good.

I bought this phone because it was affordable and has many features. I am very pleased with it because it was simple to add music and pictures to it with the MicroSD card, and well I'm not a computer genius. I am still trying to figure out how to set my songs as the ringtones. But everything else works.

I got this phone from MetroPcs and it rocks. I am having a little confusion and problem getting homemade ringtones onto my phone. Also my daughter slobered all over my phone and now the head phone jack shorts out. Do I send it back to Moto? or do I complain to MetroPcs? My phone is under warrenty. Any solutions to the ringtone problem and the head phone jack problem?
