Pantec Matrix, also known as Pantech C740, is a dual-slide 3G phone that has similar design and look of its predecessor, Pantech Duo. However, unlike Pantech Duo, the Pantech C740 doesn’t run on Windows Mobile operating system, which is a good news for users who hate Windows Mobile OS. The major improvements that Pantech did on the Matrix phone are adding 3G network support, and GPS navigation system. Besides that, this phone also has built-in MP3 digital music player, XM radio, 1.3-megapixel digital camera / camcorder, and Stereo Bluetooth connectivity.

I love my phone... I couldn't put it down after I bought it yesterday. My only gripe it that the ringtones are limited and I didn't like any of the tones.

I have had my Pantech Matrix since October of 2008. Just today, January 30, 2009, my screen went out. I took it off the charger this morning, put it on vibrate, and put it in my pocket. 2 hours later, I took it out of my pocket and the screen was white. Nothing I did brought it back. I called Pantech and they told me to call at&t to swap it out. I did so. They tried to trouble shoot and said I could exchange it. I was looking it up online and apparently it's not the only case of it. I'd say get insurance on it and be warey of the 'white screen of death'. Other than that it is a good phone. Granted the ringtones aren't very good but it does allow you to insert a memory card for your own.

I also bought this phone in October 2008 and about February 10th I got the white screen of death. Seems like it only lasts 3 or 4 months. I lost all my pictures because at&t can't transfer them from phone to phone, so I suggest getting a memory card and backing up music and pictures. I have also found a lot of weird glitches with this phone that aren't big problems, but can be pretty annoying. It freezes a lot, but you can just turn it off and back on. The text tone is horrible and I have yet to find a way to change it (the volume for the text tone won't change either and it's really loud, my roommates find it very annoying).

I got this phone in december... i absolutely love it! there are a few glitches. like while your texting. but other than that.. its amazing.. as for the ringtones i suggest that you go to myxer.com for many of amazing ringtones! i have like 30 of ringtones that i got there for free from just signing up for free! as for the text tone, try going to settings, then prfiles to silent it.. it might just turn the phone down.. but its worth a try!

It's an amazing phone. I figured out how to slide it open both ways at once! It's heavy but I got used to it. I absolutely love it. I have had it since January. I do reccomend having a memory card with it. I drop it a lot and it has scratches on the screen and on the side that look bad up close. Keep it off the road :P

slide it up and then put the palm of your hand on the keyboard. then slide it down over your palm so that it is pinching the palm. then slide it over while the phone is on top of your pal and slide up

It's not supposed to open both ways. I wouldn't recommend opening it both ways. I did for a week, and now the screen is white. can't figure out how to fix it. Don't try to open it both ways. Trust me.

try sliding it sideways than sliding it hard from the bottom until it goes both ways. kinda complicated to explain tho so hope it helped. it is kinda glitchy and it can make it screw up for a sec. but it goes back... do you know how to take the battery?

this is a good phone at first. I thought it would be amazing, but after a while it say there is service but yet fails to send things. it also has a delay once you slide it to the other side. The screen takes a second or two to go from on veiw from the other. It is a cool phone but there are alot better phones out there.

This phone was the sweetest thing in the world for the first few months but then as you use it the sliders become clumsy and eventually feel like they're going to slide off. My phone can no longer sense that my QWERTY keyboard is open and i can no longer use it because the sliders became so worn out. I've only had it since christmas and it is not the end of may so almost half a year but still. Otherwise everything else is pretty decent on the phone just be careful with the sliders.

Awesome phone! Great for txting. I cant figure out how to set ring and pic ID, but I'll look on google and find out how. Get a memory card if you get the phone, because you can download pics and songs from your computer onto it, and then put them on your phone. Again's a sweet phone and I highly recommend it!

This is a very popular phone! all my friends loved it nd were jealous....i suggest not sliding it both ways, cause it'll glitch ur phone...The Bad things bout the phone: the speaker...it is really low, if u have ur phone in ur purse u can barely hear ur ringtone, but on the othr hand,the vibrate is really loud...especially against other things! nd also there is no headphones that go with this phone at all.....so if u wanna listen 2 ur music, u gotta play it for evy1...although they prolly can' hear it 4m more than a foot away...Overall, I love this phone! Fits me perfectly!
