-1 votes problem is that I have no main screen, cannot access settings or any other menus, all I have is info bar at the top. In this case reset to factory setting thru menu won't work for me. Then it become a bit more interesting, because the second part, hard reset by holding volume down, don't work either.
I guess I'm screw.

I have the same problem my galaxy just stop working and won't power stays at the boot up screen and flashes Galaxy S. I tried everything I found on the internet and nothing seems to work. If I take out the battery and reinstall it...once I press the power button it goes directly back to that screen and does the same thing. Is there a way to flash it from a pc or something...or am I hooped?
