great phone . If you are looking for a phone \ and not a electronics store in your pocket . looks good and calls are clear with good audio quality .I have stereos for my music and several quality cameras which are much better suited for these purposes than the camera you will get with any cell phone. So my reviews on cell phones usually are limited to how a phone works as a phone, And the T239 does a very good job at that.

Hand Cell Phone Readers...

Excellent handset! It does what it's designed to do very well. I'm sitting here with only 2 bars down on the charge indicator after 6 days of standby. In that time, I've received only a couple of calls and some attempted texts from folks using the wrong number (no issue though since I've got all texts blocked). I suspect that I'll get 7+ days of standby out of it.

IF you want a phone that does "texting," e-mail, MP3, video, various application software, your dishes and mowing the lawn amongst other things, look elsewhere. However, don't complain when all those features not only don't work correctly (often the case), but drain your battery flat in no time! For all that, you also typically get locked into a 2-year contract to pay for that expensive piece of electronics. In addition, for all those additional features with a "smart" phone, the carriers mandate (require) 3G at ~$25 - $35/mo. above and beyond your voice plan. Brilliant on their part - I must admit. But, no thanks!

No doubt that this is a basic phone but it does come with a nice 1.52" x 1.224" (176 x 220) display that's bright and is easy to see/read. Furthermore, it's small enough that it very easily slips into a pocket or a small belt case. Reception has been quite good overall, I'm somewhat surprised at this since Nokia tends (in the past) to have a slight advantage in better handset reception.

For those wanting to save a few bucks, here's a tip that you won't find just anywhere in the mainstream media! Purchase the prepaid kit, same phone as they've got on the showroom floor, then take the phone (without the prepaid SIM card installed) down to your local cell store and request a SIM card on a plan. Advantage, you now have a choice since you don't have to be *locked* into a 2-year contract this way. Why? Simply due to the fact that you're providing your own phone! When you desire, as a customer, that a corporate cell company & store subsidize the purchase of your new phone, that's usually based on them locking you into a 2-year contract. Buy your own phone and just request the SIM card alone. This does not require a 2 year contract/commitment.

It really isn't rocket science folks...

Furthermore, a fall back plan-B, in this way, if you desire to cancel the plan at any time - can do, simply hand them back their SIM card, go home and install your prepaid card and you're back on the air! I grant you with a different phone number but your phone is back up and running in just a few minutes.

The reasoning for signing up is the cost per minute is usually about 1/2 (or less) of the prepaid service based on 10 cents/minute.

0 vote I have never had a more

I have never had a more stressful phone. At least it does make calls, but I thought it would be a bit less boring. I'm not trying to get on the internet or anything like that, but I would like to personalize it.

That is why I am giving this phone to my mom, its suited more to her than to someone who likes to personalize their phone.
